Special Court Close to Finalisation Begins recruiting Defence Lawyers

The Special Court communiqué says that the president of this court, Ekaterina Trendafilova, in consultation with judges has issued the Protectors' directive. This directive is said to have entered into force on November 6, 2017.
This directive envisions criteria that lawyers must meet to access the Special Court Protection List.
According to the directive, to be admitted to the list of defenders, lawyers must have experience for at least 10 years as a defence co-ordinator, or at least 7 years of experience as a lawyer or prosecutor.
Furthermore, the directive defines as criteria the recognition of any of the official languages of the Special Court.
According to the communiqué, the interested should meet a application form and should be testified to if the set criteria with the Protector's directive are met.
