Representatives of the National Convention for the EU have talked with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, for Kosovo, within the framework of internal dialogue for Kosovo.

As Serbian news agency Tanjug reports, representatives of the National Convention for the EU, which collects over 700 civil society organisations, oppose maintaining the state of frozen conflict around Kosovo, broadcast Koha.net.

The head of the Fund for Political Perfect, Sonja Liht, said in the “political aspects of the comprehensive resolution of the Kosovo issue” that for society and the country there is tremendous importance that the internal dialogue for Kosovo has started and that this case should be used to find the solution.

As she was quoted as saying, it remains the impression that most are for status quos, “but how different it would be when there are many of those who are not well aware or not, but also those who think with emotion, while emotions are not the smartest allies”, broadcast Time.net.

Vera Jovanovic, from the Forum for Ethnic Relations, said that none of the goals of internal dialogue has been fully met so far, even the peaceful solution has been questioned, while the inclusion of all levels of society in it has been excluded.

According to Dusan Milenkovic, from the Centre for Social Dialogue and Regional Initiative, “is necessary for exchange of concessions in dialogue to be done fairly. What is of particular importance is the essentially powerful association of Serb municipalities, protection of cultural heritage, as well as the involvement of Kosovo Serbs in the” dialogue.

Milenkovic says that association should be formed assycytically “to enable the Serb remnant (in Kosovo) to become possible executive competencies that Pristina opposes, as well as continued financing from Belgrade, until the private sector is strengthened to sufficient extent”.

Ivan Djuric, from the Youth Initiative for Human Rights, has said that the resolution of the Kosovo conflict should be taken into account what has been the cause of Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence.

Serbia is not dealing with war, but with the way Kosovo has dealt with it. To live in peace, we need to illuminate the darkest pages of the past and apologize to”, Djuric said, broadcasts Time.

From the Helsinki Council for Human Rights, Isabel Kissiq presented the position of this organisation, under which, without a review of the nature of Kosovo's problem and its history, there can be no real and lasting solution.

She said partitioning Kosovo is impossible, as well as returning to the old.

Kosovo's “Division on the basis of ethnic principles is impossible, and the Kosovo issue cannot be compared to Republika Srpska”, she has said.

Serbia's “is an interest for Kosovo to join the EU and the UN”, Kisiq has said.

As Sonja Stojanovic, of the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy, has expressed, what concerns him is the fact that the extensive research shows that Serbs in northern Kosovo fear Serbian mafia structures rather than Albanian neighbours.

Director of the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights, JOCOM, Milan Antonijevic, has said that the frozen <x0-relations and status quo are not a solution that is going to improve the lives of Serbs in Kosovo”.

According to Dragisa Mijaciqi, from the InTER organisation, “is a reality that Serbia, sooner or later, will sign the agreement for normalising relations with Kosovo” and, as he put it, postponing work in this “agreement is contrary to Serbian national interests, while it will have a negative impact even on the survival of Serbs in Kosovo”.

“By signing the Brussels Agreement, Serbia has accepted Kosovo's constitutional order, meaning the elimination of Serbia's institutions in Kosovo. This is an irreversible process today, and we only have to work on advancing existing” solutions, Mijaciq said, conveys Koha.net.

He has mentioned four goals for Serbia: finding a solution that guarantees the security and prosperity of Serbs in Kosovo, and in its context the preservation of the Serb community in Kosovo, the formation of the Association of Serb municipalities, the protection of Serbian cultural-historic heritage and the resolution of economic issues; the strengthening of mutual trust between Serbs and Albanians, especially strengthening economic co-operation between Serbia and Kosovo; the return of displaced Serbs to Kosovo; and the focus in Serbia's <x0th).

For Stefan Surlic from the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in the Balkans, “the only solution for Kosovo is the agreement Serbs offer the feeling of living in Serbia, while Albanians have achieved their citizenship”, the Coha.net reporting of Tanjug broadcast.

Surlic has ordered Vucinic “to use European leaders' support for reaching agreement and resolving the Kosovo issue”.

The frozen conflict would confront us with a population that has no identity with Serbia. The division of Ibër's southern territory is also not a solution, since they would thus be condemned to marginalization”.
