Pristina Deputy Chairman Selim Pacolli has commented on recent developments within the leadership of this municipality, following Shpend Ahmeti's resignation from the Vetevendosje Movement.
Pacolli commented on the request of several members of Vetevendosje, and opposition parties in Pristina, which Shpend Ahmeti must step down from Pristina's leadership.
He said this is not expected to happen, because according to Pacolli, in this situation it is impossible to achieve 20% rain needed for Ahmeti's fall, as envisions Article 72 of the Law on Local Self-Government. Even though he indicated that if such is to happen, then it must be accepted by all.
“I don't believe we will come to a situation that will produce new elections in Pristina. I don't think that 20% necessary for the mayor's dismissal will be achieved. But, if it happens if it reaches the Parliament, it's the matter of the head of the Parliament, and whatever it is under, it must be implemented. But we don't have a community of local and central elections, because there's huge budget costs. But even the changes in politics are minimal, that parties are just changing, but it's not changing quality” Pacolli said.
He told Inseder also showed the functioning of Pristina's Municipal Assembly, where he said he expects of all the assemblyists, both of those left in Vetevendosje, but also of those who have resigned from this party, to implement the party programme they have been competing with in last year's November elections, says Insander.
I don't think there's gonna be any trouble in making such decisions. I don't think there will be any greater movement of Vetevendosje assemblyists. The governing programme should implement both groups that both have won with this programme. It wasn't political, it was inertation. At least it's fair that every assemblyist, that he represents his voters, If there was something wrong with that budget it's normal not to vote”.
Asked whether promised projects in the election campaign have been launched, Pacolli said they have not yet managed to consolidate as partners.
The reason for this is that some directors have not yet been established, and some have not been appointed directors.
And we haven't started with the projects we've seen before. We're consisting of local government. Many directors remain without naming new directors yet, do not elect working groups, have jobs to consolidate as local government, now we start with new projects” said Pacolli.
Selim Pacolli in the recent local elections had been the AKR candidate for Pristina chairman. From the results of those elections, he had managed to take third in the race, after Shpend Ahmeti and Arba Abrash.
He had reached a coalition with the Vetevendosje Movement, and already together with the AAK, form a coalition in the Pristina municipality.
