The prison director who was brutally beaten says he is still at risk, nothing is known of attackers

Less than seven months after the brutal beating of former Kosovo Correcting Service Director Sokol Zogaj, the tracking organs know nothing of the three suspects in this case -- Blerim Abdullahu, Burim Djeqi and Gur Mulli. Although local authorities were informed that the prime suspect in the birdaj attack, Blerim Abdullah was arrested in [...]
Even though local authorities were informed that the prime suspect in the attack on Zogaj, Blerim Abdullahu had been arrested in Germany, the Basic Prosecutor in Pristina, who is investigating the case, says there is no information if the same still lies in the hands of German authorities.
Pristina Foundation Prosecutor's Chief Prosecutor Imer Beka for “Periscope” says the prosecution has no information on either of the three suspects.
We already have information that it is banned, but extradition lasts, as there is a very complicated procedure. We still have no information. We're expecting results, whether he can be extradited or not. Currently, we have no information about what happened to the ban in Germany. The other two are on the run and we have no idea where they are, said Chief Prosecutor Beka.
According to him, the prosecution has issued arrest warrants for the two suspects on the run, but now the issue is up to the Kosovo Police to make their capture.
We have issued arrest warrants against suspects, now that the police have to arrest them, because we have finished our work. We've done our job as best”, he said.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Justice through a response to “Periscope” has not provided any concrete information about this case, except that it has indicated how co-operation with German authorities on extradition issues.
“Co-operation with German authorities, including extradition issues, is done on the basis of the two-way Agreement in force. Every request of the courts and prosecutors of the Republic of Kosovo is forwarded to the German authorities and vice versa”, the MD's response said.
However, officials from this ministry have confirmed that, in concrete case, the Ministry of Justice has been and is available to the upper organs, even during the weekend.
On the other hand, although he has been retired for several weeks, former Kosovo Correcting Service Director Sokol Zogaj, who had been attacked on the morning of August 16th with iron bars near his apartment by three suspected persons, says he still feels endangered.
With the fact that neither of the three suspects was arrested, I feel endangered. I have not had any provocations until today, before I retire I have had the nearest protection, while now that I am retired I am not exempt from the possibility that I might be endangered”, Zogaj said.
The bird for “Periscope” says it still does not know the reason for the release of the key suspect who was arrested in Germany.
I mean, I'm never involved. The prosecution has invited me twice and I've been informed that one of them, the prime suspect has been arrested in Germany, but after a short time he's been released, and today I'm not informed why he was released, whether there's been enough information or what”, he said.
According to him, neither the Justice Ministry, but neither the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina, who is investigating the case, have any information about what happened to the top suspect, Blerim Abdullah, who was arrested in Germany.
The request for extradition has been signed by Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri and sent to German authorities, but they have already released the suspect. Neither the prosecution nor the Department for Foreign Relations at the Ministry of Justice have any information from Germany's” police, Zogaj claimed.
Otherwise, former USKK director Sokol Zogaj was attacked on the morning of 16 August last year as he left his apartment. He had been beaten with metal rods and other strong tools while going to work. Zogaj had stayed for several days at QKUK for medical treatment, having suffered severe bodily injuries, mainly in the head. /Periscopi/
