The League of Pensioners of Kosovo publicly expresses disappointment, indignation and revolt over the indolent attitudes of both Government and Parliamentary structures, but also political parties, which now and 18 years old are not ready to address the vital problems of pensioners.

Following is the complete text of the letter of the Kosovo Pensioners' Lids:

Speaking of the fate of pensioners in Kosovo after 1999/2000 is to mourn for the death of those pensioners who, since May 1999, were left without contributing retirement and had no chance of having their own well-deserved pensions and sweat (neither their own, nor their families nor their children), that means crying the plight of pensioners who still live, but with dignity gone through, contempt, and shattered hope.

Governmental gentlemen, clear up and see how unfair and painful our situation is, learn that 17 generations of pensioners, with high mortality rates, nearly 4.2%, or with numbers of: 25,000 pensioners died without realizing the right to retirement earned by work, the right that belonged to all international conventions on human rights and the right established in the Kosovo Constitution. Those in their dreamable freedom and for whom they had invested, knowledge and what they had, died in extreme poverty, with a linear pension from 28, 45 to 112 euros.

For the living pensioners of pre-1999, there was a correction in 2016, as a replacement of the pension-invalid insurance system, which does not in the near future ensure the pensioner's well-deserved socioeconomic position.

Dear gentlemen,

And you know that the system for pension-invalulor insurance <x0-generate finances the “generation in Kosovo was wrongly excluded with the reasoning that now “T RUSSIA” will replace it successfully, but “befasia” public that the Trust now receives no responsibilities for current pensioners. The law imposes on the employer and employee to share 5+ 5% of his personal income for the Trust, where financial resources have already amounted to 1.7 billion euros, and they are deposited in the financial markets of major world centres and only symbolic amounts in Kosovo. Thus, the financial effects for the country's economy are indisposed, while their security in current geopolitical conditions and the manner of questionable management, while the first pensioners in 1999 remained at “around the country's” budget, which is never enough for pension insurance solutions, etc. For the third generation.

It should be noted that in all states emerging from the former Yugoslavia, the pension system has remained in previous principles, known as the “Bizarcht” system, or system combined with voluntary funds for pension savings. But there is no more unacceptable and less human example than this one in our country.

How can it be explained when the Fund now owns nearly 1.7 billion euros, which, if compared with the cost of contributing pensioners, could be paid globally for 17 - 18 years or the funds collected during 2017 alone amounted to approximately 180m euros, which would suffice for pension payment for more than 19 months and so forth.

Managing director and members of the Trust Board only within the month realised approximately 28 average pensions of Kosovo pensioner.

It is not too much if we stress data compared with standards set by the World Bank, the sector for fighting poverty. Thus, over 52% of Kosovo pensioners, who have 4 family members, live below the poverty threshold.

Therefore, the League of Pensioners of Kosovo publicly expresses discontent, indignation and revolt over the indolent attitudes of both Government and Parliamentary structures, but also of political parties, which now and 18 years are not ready for the vital problems of pensioners to give due attention. Once upon a time, it reminds those who are decisionmakers today that they wouldn't be those who are already pensioners and former bricklayers, firemen, teachers, professors, doctors, engineers... but that tomorrow they will also become pensioners.

We demand that empty promises be interrupted, unscrewd reasoning that your <x0 operations robbed Serbia”, that pension increases are not allowing the International Monetary Fund, or the World Bank, because pensioners demand equivalent retirement from their own state, from Kosovo.

We beg you, people, understand that pensions are an economic category, are a debt, not a “, not a charity.

Pensioners have been fed up with Kurdish admissions, with campaign promises, they've had enough patience, so we beg them not to let them go on strike and die in squares, or in hunger strikes like the former miners of “Trepca”, but for other reasons, or to take some other fatal action.

During the year, pensioners' delegations have directed more than 86 letters to competent structures and personalities, organized 16 admissions to high levels (the country, Government, Ministry, etc.), but all without one.

Pensioners do not pressure the Assembly with insults and threats, or other violent forms, to make immediate changes and compliance with the law to allow both salaries and pensions. Pensioners seek social justice under all the positive principles and laws of the Republic of Kosovo.

With respect,

Kosovo Pensioner League's Headship
