The general strike being held today in all Kosovo educational institutions has also prompted the Kosovo Parents' Council to react through a media communique.
According to this communiqué, recent developments in the educational education process in Kosovo and do not harmonise attitudes between the Government of Kosovo and the SBASK are of great concern to the parents, students and citizens of Kosovo and harmful to the education system in Kosovo.
With all the implementation of the agreement between the Government of Kosovo and the Kosovo Education Union last year, there has been no start in implementing it, which has also become an excuse for the general teachers' strikes in which the Unions today joined and have warned other strikes in April if their demands are not realised”, it is said in the communique.
The unwillingness and not the seriousness of the State Organisations, to fulfill its obligations to teachers, is very disturbing and disappointing, so it is a critical moment for August and the Government of Kosovo to reflect positively on the solution to this problem that has been created so that it will never come to an end to learning as it is.
The Parents' Council stresses that constant calls for strike are a threat to students and parents, and that any warning of strike is directly affecting students, and the whole learning process is becoming too fragile in Kosovo.
Kosovo's Parents' Council “, understands the sorrow and plight of teachers and fully agrees with their right requirements for recognising the nine years' work stage, but we also appreciate that the strike is not the only right option for the implementation of teaching requirements”.
The Parents' Council and parents generally require both the Government of Kosovo and the SBASK to be very cautious and careful and not to take action that affects the performance of the teaching process”, it says in response.
