US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wes Mitchell arrives today on a two-day visit during which he will meet with President Hashim Thaci and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, as well as with other political and civil society representatives.
He will reaffirm the close ties between Kosovo and the US and encourage Kosovo Government to make progress in dialogue with Serbia, strengthening rule of law, raising economic growth, and overcoming regional challenges to benefit stability and Western integration.
Wes Mitchell took up the post of assistant secretary of state on January 12th 2017 and he is responsible for diplomatic relations with 50 countries in Europe and Eurasia, NATO, the EU and the OSCE.
He is the author of many articles and reports of transatlantic relations and international security.
