German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel of the centre-left (SPD) has declared he will not join the new coalition government.
“Lider of the SPD parliamentary group, Andrea Nahles and the SPD's interim chairman, Olaf Scholz, informed me that I will not be part of the next government”, Gabriel said through a Twitter post.
“I will continue to be a member directly elected Bundestag, but now the time has ended of my political duties for the SPD”, Gabriel said, accompanied Atsh.
The SPD is scheduled to announce ministerial posts in the new government tomorrow.
