Less than a week after the meat scandal that was discovered in the slaughter, “Vevaba”, in the Belgian town of “Bastogne”, the Belgian food industry has been shaken with new discovery.
According to the newspaper flammere, “Het Laatste Nieuja”, a truck had left the slaughter, “Veveba”, in September 2016 to supply Kosovo with meat they had produced in 2004.
A University of Belgium professor in Ghent has told the newspaper, “Het Laatste Nieus”, that “the growing of meat over a 12-year period is not a dangerous health necessity”, says Insander.
But to avoid even the slightest danger, no chain of meat would have to be maintained steadily at a temperature of minus 18 degrees Celsius”, Belgian professor said.
Most of the brand labels “Vevaba” were torn into the ambalage. The year 2004 was alone in some of the labels.
The Dutch newspaper writes that Kosovo's Food Inspectorate has warned the Belge Agency for Food Chain Safety (Afsca) at the time of the incident. In addition, several other meat industries north of Belgium, Izegem and Harelbeke, have been involved in loading this meat truck.
