A group of pro-Kurdish protesters have clashed with Turkish supporters and German police at Dyzeldorf Airport, leaving several people injured.
The clash has occurred after protesters opposing the Turkish operation in Syria's Africa region, the Kurdish-controlled area, met with supporters of Turkey's offensive and German police, who have used hot spray to return order to the airport.
The AFP has quoted some federal police officers as saying that “a number of persons” were injured during the clashes, which did not affect travellers or airport work.
Social networking images show some protesters holding posters on which it says, “Afrini is our Vietnam, we will defeat fascism”.
Ankara has launched an air and ground offensive on January 20th in Africa, in order to evacuate the People's Protection Units (YPG).
This US-backed militia, Turkey considers it a terrorist group. (REL)
