If Kosovo Customs figures are looked at, then the impression may be given that Kosovars consume only meat.
This, since fewer than 40 million pounds [40 million kg] of meat has been imported from various parts of the world.
The relevant authorities guarantee that meat is controlled, but citizens are particularly concerned after the scandal emerged in Belgium when a company there has brought rotten meat to Kosovo and other Southeast European countries.
Within the past year, Kosovo imported 40 million pounds of meat of various kinds. For a year Kosovars conspired meat from Brazil, Argentina, the United States, the Netherlands, Belgium, and other countries.
Kosovo Customs stated for RTK that the largest amount is chicken.
This institution explained that they control products and meat within the form of the tax and accurate assessment. And for the quality of the meat imports responsible is the Kosovo Food Agency.
Meanwhile, AVUK chief chief Valdet Djindovci guarantees that meat imported is controlled by the inspectors of this agency.
Exports of meat broken by Belgian company Veviba in the direction of Kosovo and other Southeast European countries continue to remain the head of Belgian media.
Citizens in Kosovo say they are concerned about what they consume and ask the state for more food control, especially those imported.
In this situation, meat vendors say it is better to consume local goods.
For the first time, the spoiled meat was heard in 2016 when Kosovo authorities warned Belgian authorities that broken meat had arrived from the Vaviba company.
The Veterina and Food Agency has announced that same year that 20 thousandkg of damaged meat imported from Belgium's occupant Weviba.
