The 55-year-old was questioned by police in Paris this week, and is now being held in custody.
He denies accusations and has indicted his slander accuser, reports “BBC”, report Periscope.
Ramadan legalises at Oxford University, but after the claims appeared in October, he received permission to suspend his work.
A judge is drafting the case to determine whether Ramadan will be tried to face charges of rape and assault.
His first accuser was Henda Ayari, a former radical Muslim who is the leader of a secular feminist group.
In her book published in 2016, she wrote that she had been raped in a Paris hotel four years ago but not to mention the attacker's name.
Otherwise, Tariq Ramadan had held a lecture in Kosovo at the invitation of “Association for Culture, Education and Education” (AKEA). The theme of the lecture was: “what Islam offers to Europe in the XX century!”. /Periscopi/
