Punishments for sexual harassment are not presented at Pristina University

The issue of sexual harassment is not included in the Order for Measures and Disciplinary Procedures on University of Pristina Academy Staff. The Dean said that in a regulation prepared by the UP's reactor, under which the Ethics Council and disciplinary councils operate through academic entities, sexual harassment is not mentioned in violations.
“Exists the Ethics Council at the level of UP and disciplinary commissions for academic staff at the level of academic units, which work according to a regulation which has prepared the Rectorate, which outlines various violations and envisions punishment measures for the academic staff that conflicts with these rules, but is not preparative as a particular issue of sexual harassment”, said decana Manjuka-Kurli.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine said the UP should draft a regulation against sexual harassment.
I consider that this issue should be addressed at the level of the UPI by drafting a regulation on the issue of sexual harassment in UP and which will be useful for all entities based on the good practices of other international universities. Not only to compile the regulation but also to apply”, she said.
Even the dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports at Pristina University, Musa Selimi, said the issue of sexual harassment is not being handled well.
I think you've rightly asked to discuss this sensitive subject and well treated! In many meetings with students, we as management have searched for any problem even of this nature to report to me, or to prodeciency for teaching”, Selimi said.
But the dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in UP, Ahmet Shala, that this faculty has taken some measures to prevent sexual harassment.
The FIM management also acknowledges the issue of preventing and taking measures in cases of sexual harassment, especially in the companies of preventative measures by reacting to problems from the very beginning, warning of improper behaviour from any direction they come to. So it is forbidden to take exams in cabinets. Shut the door during consultations schedule, etc.”, Shala said.
But the three deans said that no sexual harassment has been accepted in their academic entities.
Dean of Medical School, Susan Manjuka- Curliu said this does not mean that sexual harassment does not happen in the UP.
“However, this does not mean that there is no such problem, but it may be hidden.
The Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the UP, Ahmet Shala, said that the management of this faculty is prepared not to silence cases of sexual harassment, since according to the Dean Shala, <x0viktim may be somewhere even our children or family”.
Dean Susan Manjuka- Curliu said the UPI should organise conferences to discuss openly the issue of sexual harassment and encourage students to report to professors who, according to her, <x0meren with grave violations of dignity by abusing the official position”.
While the dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, Musa Selimi said more sensitivity is needed in the UPI for this negative phenomenon.
I think that we should be more sensitive by demanding that students be more cooperative and address to us the problems of this nature”, Selimi said.
KA LLXO.com on the issue of sexual harassment sent questions to 13 deans of UP's academic units, but only three of them answered.
Neither did representatives of the reactor.
The subject of sexual harassment was currentised as Vetevendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti in an interview for the Commission “jeta in Kosovo” acknowledged that sexual harassment was on this political subject.
