In a several-page file, the Pristina Prosecutor claims to have provided evidence that the weapons permit system has managed to be misused, offering persons who fail to meet the criteria for gun permits.
The file, which has resulted after a several-month investigation, claims that in at least five cases persons linked to the arms and trading company have arrived to equip them with counterfeit gun permits for citizens.
In a case of no major publicity Hashim Rexhepi, owner of the company “Fazani”, and his father-in-law Rexhepi, have been arrested at the end of the week we are leaving behind.
KA LLXO.com has secured the verdict of the Court with which father and son have been taken to custody for 30 days.
It states that Homeland Rexhepi, in compensation for the amounts of up to 5,000 euros, has provided four people with counterfeit gun permits.
The same document explains that the Homeland was not a company official, which was run by his father, Hashim Rexhepi. The latter allegedly kept his personal permission false.
According to the secured file, Hashim Rexhepi had a gun permit in his pocket, which is forged.
The file also explains the claims of two detainees.
Hashim Rexhepi was quoted as saying to the court that he did not know his permit was forged because he followed the procedures and paid 500 euros in taxes.
While Homeland Rexhepi claims he had nothing to do with the case, saying gun permits are issued to the ministry rather than to weapons-training and training companies.
Hashim Rexhepi's defender, lawyer Arber Fazliu, has confirmed to KALLXO.com that his client is in custody for 30 days.
“Procurory has failed to prove the fact and evidence on sufficient grounds for the detention measure, so I consider that there is no reason for my defense to be appointed the detention measure because my protector is willing to co-operate with the prosecution organs“, Fazliu said.
Import, sale and gun permits are regulated by strict legislation and is constantly controlled by MPB.
