According to the communiqué, Balaj was elected leader in the third round of voting, until 26 advisers were present in the hall, where Balaj received 18 votes, while eight advisers abstained.
The new Speaker of the Assembly, Qaush Balaj, has thanked advisers for the given trust, promising that his post will be fully compatible with the Law for Local Self-government and the Status of the Communists, as well as other legal provisions regulating the functioning of the Communist Assembly.
Balaj's election came only after the LDK coalitiond with the Democratic Party of Kosovo in this municipality.
Istog's chairman from LDK ranks, Haki Rugova, said in a statement to Klan Kosovo that they have coalitiond with the PDK, and thus four amblists of this party voted their candidate.
From this coalition The PDK wins three directors, but it is not yet known which sectors of the municipality it will lead.
Rugova said he has found common language with the Serb minority, but they will not lead any of the directors.
