Pakistani police have arrested four people charged with stealing spinal fluids from women.
The suspects told women they had to offer blood samples to be selected for financial assistance from the Punjabi government, police from this country have told the BBC.
The gang is thought to have stolen over 12 women's fluids, including a teenager.
“It seems the gang has been active in the Hafizabad area for some time”, said regional police chief Ashfaq Ahmed Khan.
A member of this group “had faked as an employee of the Central Staff Hospital, telling its victims that they would have to give blood samples in order to qualify for the Punjab” government fund.
But instead of sending them to the hospital for <x1).
Authorities were notified of the scheme after a man noticed that his 17-year-old daughter felt badly after the procedure.
The Health Ministry has established a commission to investigate fraud, while the four members of the group are currently in custody.
The spinal fluid is a transparent liquid found around the brain and spinal cord, which protects them from shock and injury.
This fluid can be extracted by inserting a needle into the spinal channel.
