Kosovo's independence during the past year has been recognised by only two states, as well as they had known in 2016. The process of international recognition has stalled over the past four years, while Serbia is vigorously lobbiing that certain states attract their recognitions.
Only two countries have known Kosovo's independence over the past year, as well as they had known in 2016. For ten years, Kosovo has managed to secure only 115 international recognitions, while the country is at the same time facing Serbia's powerful lobby in some states to attract their recognitions.
In 2018, when Kosovo had declared independence, the country had been recognised by 53 states, and since then the international recognition security process has stalled markedly, writes “Zer”.
The biggest failures in this direction are marked from 2015 onward, when Kosovo has failed to secure more than three recognitions per year. Kosovo has still not been recognised by the five permanent EU member states (Spanja, Greece, Slovakia, Cyprus, Romania), which have brought trouble to the country in the Euro-integration process.
Otherwise, even permanent UN Security Council member states have different attitudes towards Kosovo independence.
