Kosovo exports mostly cash ready

Kosovo's trade deficit since the period of independence has always been high. Kosovo exports far less goods than all countries in the region, while according to Kosovo Economic Ode Chairman Safet Gerjaliu, mostly exports cash ready.

That our country, even after 10 years of independence, exports much more financial means than goods, says the head of the Kosovo Club of Producers, Astrit Panja:

We don't have the capacity to export, but since the post-war Kosovo economy, it means institutions are focused on collecting customs revenues, not creating conditions for production in Kosovo. For that reason we import much more than we produce, and this affects the export of money, not products from Kosovo”, Panja says.

To overcome this unfavourable situation in terms of trade deficit and export of cash, connoisseurs of economic issues say political circles in Kosovo should understand reality that over state interests are not party or political interests.
