So has the Kosovo Judiciary Council, which has accepted the request by Whitold Jakimo, task leader of EULEX judges' taskman.
KA LLXO.com has secured the decision of the Kosovo Judiciary Council, in which Yakimto reportedly had submitted to the KDR request that the case of the UNMIK officials be tried by a massive and leading European Mission for Endim.
The ruling reportedly approved the EULEX chairman's request, for other reasons rather than because local judges might not have been able to judge the four indictees.
The KCJ made this decision “not why the Kosovo judiciary is incapacitated and there is unwillingness to deal with the case, but took such an action by relying on the argument that it is a very sensitive case”.
The Judiciary Council further argues with the fact that one of the dead was an international member of the UNMIK contingent.
“One of the officials killed was a member of UNMIK's international contingent, the case is complex involving four defendants, and criminal acts deal with EU member states”, said to reason on the KCJ decision.
Charged in this trial are Bedri Krasniqi, Alban Dizdari, Bajram Kicmar and Faik Shaqiri.
On March 23rd 2004, two UNMIK officials were killed during the then riots, while those charged with murder are also charged with attempted murder.
The accused have been acquitted on 12 October.
The act surrendered on July 21, last year.
Three of the accused of this trial had been arrested on July 5, 2017.
