The Kosovo government considers the idea of partitioning Kosovo objective, excluding any possibility of involvement in such scenarios. The idea, which since the end of the war in Kosovo is promoted by top Serbian officials, has recently been re-acted even in the discours of European politicians. Dialogue with Serbia, currently suspended, has moved to the presidential level. Meanwhile, Kosovo Government's negotiating chief has been named Avni Arifi, writes Koha Ditore today.
He has flatly denied that Prime Minister Haradinaj will be able to engage in discussions on the partition of Kosovo.
We understand ideas from Belgrade. In the last 20 years, they have never had a good idea for the region, so neither has their last idea of exchanging territories. If they want to divide Serbia is their problem, but Kosovo has no land to give or exchange”, Arifi has said of “Koha Ditore”.
“Whoever says or doubts Ramush Haradinaj is part of any talks or agreements for partitioning Kosovo are untrue and intentional”.
Prime Minister Haradinaj has also spoken of reports with Serbia in an interview for the German newspaper “Tagesspiegel”. According to him, a peace treaty is very important for both countries. “Gate two decades has already ended the war. It is time for Kosovo and its people to have a clear perspective”, Haradinaj has said.
