Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, who is standing in Kosovo for the 10th anniversary of Kosovo's independence, has continued with his critical tones for the Kosovo political leadership, especially for Demarcation with Montenegro.
In an interview in Klan Kosova, he has said no ratification of Demarkation with Montenegro -- for a long time from Kosovo -- not only has Kosovo citizens left without visas -- has damaged this new state in international politics, especially its Western friends. These statements were countered by Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
Rama has said that the demarcation would have to be voted on in time, as it was nothing more than an idea invented by Kosovo's domestic politics, which jeopardised the Euro Atlantic future of this country.
“I've always preferred that the debates with good friends here in Pristina make discrete, eye-eyed, but the demarcation issue has turned and is today on a stone weighing on Kosovo's neck and that has created no small confusion, among those who are the power that arose the state of Kosovo, international strategic partners of Albanians”, Rama has stated.
“The demarcation will finally free the people of Kosovo from the terrible obstacle set by the EU to move freely to Europe, as it has not been fair that this movement is conditioned with demarcation and is shameful for the European Union. I've said this in front of everyone I've met in the EU”.
But the issue of demarcation has another component; it has seriously jeopardised Kosovo's reputation in the international arena. It has jeopardised the confidence and support of the strategic partners of Kosovo and Albanians, as refusing to ratify this agreement is the lack of seriousness from Kosovo”.
“While Albania's big friends are engaged in choosing the real problem between Albanians and Serbs, demarcation is a problem invented by Kosovo's domestic politics that has no real basis and is an injustice to people in this country”.
But I've faced a deaf wall every time I've spoken about it, and every time I've followed what I've heard in my counterparts meetings at the highest levels of international relations”, Rama has indicated.
Then I have had to publicly say what to say and I strongly hope that the Kosovo Parliament will ratify this agreement and close this chapter that should be forgotten an hour and earlier, as it raised questions in the eyes of those who gave birth to the state of Kosovo for no reason, and it is unwarranted from the strategic point of view to make the mistake of this”.
