The Kosovo opposition is strongly opposing any possible initiative for partitioning Kosovo or for exchange of territories with Serbia.
Days earlier, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Democratic Union for Integration in Macedonia leader Ali Ahmeti were reportedly negotiating Kosovo's division, respectively, for drawing borders in the Balkans, writes the newspaper “Zri” today.
But Thaci himself, who has held Monday with Slovenia's president, Borut Pahor, has described the debate as disturbing and harmful about the idea of partitioning Kosovo.
Opposition representatives in the country estimate that such topics should not be discussed with Serbia, and that with the latter it should be discussed only for recognition of Kosovo's independence.
On the other hand, Serbia's MP, Milovan Drescu, has declared that “Kosovo President Hashim Thaci is trying to provide talks on the possibility of exchange of territories between Kosovo and Serbia”.
Meanwhile, political issues analysts in the country are considering that the debate on the exchange of territories between Kosovo and Serbia is made by those who do not want the good for Kosovo, and that a “fireplaying” is being played, which could cause turmoil.
Balkan Border Games Dangerous
Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj in an interview for “DW” had said statements about the territorial division of Serbian politicians are not serious and such games are dangerous.
