The country thanks to its citizens of 560 euros per month

In January 2017 Finland has begun to pay off citizens elected by chance of universal fundamental income. So 2000 people aged 25 to 58 accept 560 euros, and have no obligation to ask or accept any jobs. If they accept any jobs in the meantime, they [...]
The experiment will last two years, the Finnish centre-right government has decided, which hopes that this way will reduce the general cost of the state for social protection, as well as reduce unemployment and encourage people to accept any work that is worse paid or contribute to society with volunteer work.
This concept has attracted worldwide attention and represents a beginning of the progressive movement with expected positive results.
And after a year of testing, it seems that this goal will be realised, claims Marjukka Turunen, the chief of the Finnish law service for social security.
One of the participants has said he is now less nervous and concerned because he is no longer obliged to worry about calls from the employment and job offers that he cannot accept because he has to take care of old parents. We are also seeing that the decision on basic income has expected positive effects, such as reducing health spending.
Yuha Jaervinen, (39) the father of six children and one of the users of basic income, says: “I feel like a free man. If only I had been released from prison or slavery. I feel like I'm a member of society again and I've won my humanity again. I'm happy”
The Yuha deals with the production of typans and earns 1,000 euros per month, along with the 560 euros he receives from the state. He says without basic income he couldn't return to his profession.
But critics of this Finnish experiment say it only involves unemployed people, so it is not universal.
After Finnish experience, Scotland will begin with similar experiments now in March of this year.
The prime minister of Scotland, Nicola Stormeon, has said about this: “will probably turn out that this solution is not applicable, but as the changes in the market are happening at staggering speed, it is very important to be willing and open to any idea that can help individuals participate in the new economy”.
