Kurteshi, speaking of international cancer day, has said that cancer is the world's number two killer.
He said that cancer is a cell that does not die but constantly multiplys, lives and causes big problems.
The last two years are almost the same number of patients, there are approximately 1400-1500 new persons with this disease every year, in the female world dominates breast cancer, male lung cancer. This number is increasing but not alarming and we hope that this number will not increase. In the region, this number is higher”, he said.
According to him, the factors affecting mountain diseases in general are environmental pollution, smoking, then poor food, radiation exposure, exposure to sunlight in time and so forth.
“Although 50-60-year-olds are the most affected, disturbing age in Kosovo, it is also affecting young people”, he said.
