Customs and the Kosovo Tax Administration (ATK) are the main fillers of Kosovo's budget. For a decade of citizenship, these two institutions have continued to be key contributors to the collection of public money.
Kosovo customs, for ten years since the Declaration of Independence, has collected 8.45 billion euros and made up about 70 per cent of the funds collected.
And the Kosovo Tax Administration (ATK), for ten years of citizenship, has raised 4.1 billion euros for the state ark.
In all, both institutions have raised 12.55 billion euros.
From year to year, the customs revenue collection trend has seen an increase. In 2016, this institution for the first time exceeded one billion euros, where it raised 1 billion euros and 52m euros.
According to the Kosovo Customs data, sent the Telegraph, 604.8m euros have been collected in 2008, while by the end of 2017, this value reached 1 billion and 121m euros.
“In 2009, Customs collected 635.08m euros, 700.03m euros were raised in 2010, and 827.1m euros were collected in 2011. From 2012 to the end of 2017 by this institution have collected 5.68 billion euros”, Kosovo Customs spokesman Adriatic Stavileci said of Telegrafi.
From 2008 to January 2018, the Kosovo Tax Administration (ATK) has collected 4.1 billion euros, with 2.92 billion euros and 1.18 billion of pension contributions collected from taxes.
While ATK officials have said that in 2008 they have collected 222.16m euros from taxes, while by the end of 2017, this institution has collected 414.36m euros.
“Of the types of taxes, more inflows were made by the State Value Tax (TVSH), with a total of 1.32 billion euros, ahead of the Tax on Personal Future (TAP) with 907.3m euros and the tax on Corporation by 764.63m euros”, the ATK spokeswoman Valentina Bytyqi told Telegraphy.
Late last year, Finance Minister Bedri Hamza had said that the VAT, very soon, will not be collected by Kosovo Customs, but that kind of tax will be collected within the country by ATK.
