Democratic League of Kosovo MP Vjosa Osmani has been following today's internal elections in the CDU, since she has congratulated Chancellor Angela Merkel's successor to the party, the Kramp-Kerrenbauer Agents.
Osmani has said she is proud that such a post is again entrusted to a woman, and says that even Chancellor Merkel's successor will continue strong support for the Republic of Kosovo, writes the Express newspaper.
We have the new CDU chairman, Mrs. Annegret Kramp-Carrenbauer and all German citizens for model elections organised by this party. Proud as a politician who is once again entrusted with the most important party post to a woman who will no doubt continue to establish Germany and continue strong policies by Chancellor Merkel, including strong support for Kosovo”, Osmani has written on her profile.
Carrenbauer has defeated rival Friedrich Merz in the second round, thus taking over party leader Angela Merkel to date.
Angela Merkel after 18 years has left the party leader amid numerous tears and applause.
