LDK candidate Arba Abrashi in March had filed a complaint with the Constitutional Court, claiming there had been violations of the election process on November 19th in 2017.
In a statement for KTV, the Venice Commission has said that for the last time it has given the recommendation that concerns financing political parties and general elections.
The Venice Commission does not give opinions on certain issues. We give legal opinions on laws and draft laws. The last time we have given a recommendation for Kosovo is in June and has to do with financing political parties and general elections”, Tatiana Mychelova, from the office for external relations at the Venice Commission, has said.
To reports that there will be repeat of the run-off, Pristina municipality spokesman Adonis Tahiri, also called LDK pressure on the Constitutional Court, has reacted.
“The LDK, with “Fake newsnews”, is putting pressure on the Constitutional Court. News of the Venice Commission's opinion of the runoff in Pristina is untrue. It's media speculation, like pressure on the Constitutional Court, sponsored by LDK, which is continuing to dream campaign. That's already confirmed. It would be good for the LDK to look to the future, as much as wounds may have left the past, and especially the loss of Pristina”, Tahiri has written.
