Tahiri stressed that corrupt officials will face high sentences, while in addition to prosecution, the seizure of property will also be applied to these acts.
The establishment of the Justice Ministry, as well as approval by the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament of the Criminal Code, the Law on Confiscating Illegal Riches, the Law on Prevention of the Conflict of Interest, and the adoption of Signal Protection, have enabled re-determination of criminal acts of corruption, misuse of official position or authority, bribery and bribery, duty fraud in public procurement, providing a powerful response to the prevention of corrupt acts at the level of exercise of official duty, the minister of justice stressed.
He said that to prevent abuse of official duties, he said, even the once and for all ban on multiple positions and multiple benefits from exercising positions on different commissions and boards and companies.
“However, the political and institutional battle against this phenomenon should not only be viewed as external calls to meet European standards, but we must have national priority and domestic and necessary need to destroy the idea of abuse of public institutions. The most efficient implementation of laws adopted by implementing law mechanisms today constitutes a primary task for the state of Kosovo, with the aim of producing as fast effects on this bid”, said minister Tahiri.
He said that in the function of this goal, the Ministry of Justice has also launched “Justice 2020”, in which case of creating as much conditions as necessary for implementing adopted laws, it will be one of the strategic pillars of overall institutional reforms that we have undertaken in the realm of rule of law and consolidation of the rule of law.
