“Those people who asked me questions were correct, but the order to arrest me was political order, to intimidate me”, Petrovic said in an interview for public television.
Petrovic has said that for his stop in Merdare he wrote to Serbian institutions but did not respond, and according to him for his arrest only wrote two portals.
“We in the statement we have given, have addressed a public letter to the ministry of Serbia, and have asked why we have stopped, and yet we have received no answers why we have stopped from BIA. In Serbia, only two portals have reacted, and this is worrying”, Petrovic has said.
MP Petrovic had long clarified that he has been detained in Merdare for four hours by being questioned by Serbian police and then by Serbia's Information Service (BIA).
He had said he was detained by Serbian police when he was going to his family in Belgrade with his sister. He said he was not released until he was interviewed by BIA members, who he said were asked about his media statements.
I'm shocked, I don't know why they kept me for four hours, whether it was arrest or anything. This is the first time that happened to me,”, he said.
