Gashi said that for this matter journalists should address Albania's respective institutions because, according to him, Kosovo has not been able to do anything because it is not a member of the U. NESTO.
Serbia is member of U NESTO, while Kosovo is not, so it is not its party and it is not known any documentation that can go from Kosovo to U NESTO. So we're not parties or members of U. NESCO and hence U n NESTO does not recognise Kosovo. Maybe Albania had to act, so it's a question that I think you should address at Albania”, Gashi has responded.
Meanwhile, he also mentioned his main challenges. MKRS during 2018, but added that for the first time in 18 years, all cultural institutions were made with budgetary subcodes.
“This year has also been characterised with challenges, with particular emphasis on the functioning of subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Culture and on the recommendation of the general audience report, we have been forced and acted quickly by closing all accounts in commercial banks in which cultural and cultural heritage institutions have been financed, and for the first time after 18 years all cultural institutions have been made with budgetary subcode<1>, Gashi said.
Meanwhile, regarding the Cultural Heritage Sector, Gashi has said that the important decision has been the establishment of the Cultural Heritage Inspectorate, and at the same time has promised the increased inspectors in the institution.
“Inspectoriate for Cultural Heritage has taken a total of 13 action to stop work in Pristina 4, Prizren 7, and Decan 2. The inspectors have prosecuted six criminal charges for violators of the Law for Cultural Heritage, in Prizren's municipality five and one in the Pec municipality... The commitment and challenge of the Ministry of Culture increasing the number of inspectors, since we currently have an insufficient number”, Gashi said.
And the increase of 50 per cent of wages for cultural and cultural heritage workers, Gashi has also named it one of the most important decisions.
He has also talked about the MKRS's work in the sports sector, with which he mentioned that Kosovo youth this year have brought numerous international medals.
“Our athletes during this year have brought a total of 54 medals to our country only in international competitions. Meanwhile, if we refer to the results and arrivals by athletes for international and Balkan races, the number of different medals is 100 sosh”, Gashi has said.
Regarding the youth sector, Gashi has said the main projects this year have been the formation of the Youth Camp and the Youth Fund.
Once, he has said that the MKRS has supported 70 new entrepreneurs' projects.
Kosovo this year has become part of the Creative Europe programme, which Gashi said is a good opportunity for young people to deal with cultural projects.
Gashi has also said that in 2019 Kosovo theatres will be treated with new law and pledged support for these institutions.
