Mehmet Pristina, the great grandson of Hasan Pristina, the eighth head of the Albanian state, interior minister in the government of Ismail Kemal, the minister of Telegraphers in the government of Turhan Pasha, deputy in the Albanian parliament, three times deputy in the Ottoman parliament, has provided an interview for the “Debat show at Channel Oneux1> of journalist Roalnd Qafoku.
In this interview, Mehmet Pristina speaks of the wealth that Hasan Pristina has left for Hasan Pristina's family and descendants, as well as shows why Hasan Pristina was not November 28th 1912 in Vlora.
Tell us about Hasan Pristina's family and descendants?
Mehmet Pristina: Hasan Pristina was my grandfather's uncle's son. Me and my family have been named in Germany very early and since I grew up with my father's stories about Hasan Pristina. My father and my uncle were killed in the war on April 5, 1999, against Serbs, and two weeks before my father was killed, he left me a legacy under which all my life should be made available to the enlightenment of Hasan Pristina's image. Hasan had married Ikbale Pristina, a surgery whose family lived in Kosovo. She too came from a wealthy family, and Ikbal was educated and educated. Hasan and Ikbal also spoke nine foreign languages. Together they have been recognised in Pristina, Thessaloniki and Istanbul, where they have had their homes. They had no children. Ikbal died in Nice, France, of an incident that today seems surprising. She cut off her finger by cooking a cock but her wound was infected, and at that time she could not have had the right antidote against infocion and died. Hasan has suffered her death very badly and left a letter sent to Friedrich Urba's family. Hasan Pristina had a brother, but according to the documentation it turns out there were three sisters. There is a recent tendency that some characters want to enter and become part of Hasan Pristina's family. Hasani had three surnames Pristina, Berisha and Polace. In 1908 after Meclis osman, he took the name Pristina. His former name was Berisha, and earlier, Hasan Pollac was still named after the family neighborhood in Victerna. Mr. Qafoku, I confirm that Sali Berisha told your show that he, Ahifete Jahjaga and Hasan Pristina were of origin not only from one area but that the three are Berisha. They have been under the family trunk of the last name and tribe Berisha. This has often been said in our family. Ramiz Alia was also originally from this area, but he was not Berisha. In what Sali Berisha has said is very true. The area is Merturi and Hasani, Saliu and Ah Ahifeti stem from this trunk. They're Berisha. Hasan adopted a girl with the Erm Segat and a son. Rexhep Dervina is Musli Dervina's son. Musli Dervina has been adopted as in the case of Sekamas, who has five descendants, two boys and three girls. They all live in Tirana, I have friendly ties with them from the Kastrati family. In 2014, when President Nishani decorated Hasan Pristina's figure they were invited. Rexep Dervina lives in Canada and was the son of Musli Dervina, the son that Hasan adopted. Rexhepi and his family have inherited Hasan Pristina's property. I have communication with everyone.
How valuable is Hasan Pristina's wealth?
Mehmet Pristina: It is very difficult to assess Hasan Pristina's wealth. I'm saying for the first time here that the whole bed of the Weiman River, Gazivoda, so the whole area of the river's bed was the wealth and property of Hasan Pristina. There are thousands of acres of land resulting from documents according to scholars who owned it. It is this area that already has a debate between Serbia and for me without this wealth Kosovo has no life. Hasan also had homes in Kosovo, Istanbul, Tirana and Thessaloniki. There's a big villa in Thessalonica that I've gone to and visited and wonder is that during this visit I've been monitored by the police. The Greek state has nationalized the villa and made it an institute for the blind. There are several acres of yard, and the back is visible and is on the coast. But Hasan wrote down his huge wealth of concern, the Albanian state that, according to him, was a state of all lands. You wrote about the education and knowledge of Albanians. To employ the uprising to free Albania from Ottomans, Serbs, he sold many of his assets and used it in the service of the uprising. Meanwhile, Hasan shared a budget designated by his incomes and assets and financed the schooling of many boys from Kosovo to study at the Normal Elbasan School. A professor of this school told them that you Kosovo boys should learn three times because it enables Hasan Pristina education. Regarding the legacy of his property, we are publicly breaking that I, as descendants of Hasan Pristina's blood, do not belong to me, nor does it intend to take the property taken from him. If taken, it belongs only to Hasan's adopted daughter and son. Even the cottage in Thessalonica they must take. He has no right to any of our Hasan Pristina trunk family to seek and take over its properties.
Why was Hasan Pristina not in Vlora on November 28th 1912?
Mehmet Pristina: As his masterpiece Hasan Pristina has its own project for uniting all Albanian lands into a single state. He promoted this by drawing out 14 points that still matter to me. In January 1912, he delivered a speech to the Ottoman parliament, under which, in case his demands did not take place, he said: I will set up and optimise uprisings in the mountains of Kosovo. The sultan was tears from the speech, not out of emotion over Hasan's words, but because in this speech he noticed that the Ottoman Empire was about to end. It was for this speech that Hasan was charged with coup and his death penalty sought. Following the speech, Hasan was strongly supported by other Albanian deputies in the Ottoman parliament, including Ismail Kemal Vlora. It should be stressed that after his speech in parliament, a Turkish Arab deputy was established who argued sharply with Isamail Kemal and, according to documents, attacked Ismail Beun physically as well. Hasan Pristina has intervened at this moment to protect Ismail Kemal's honour and dignity. Hasan asked the Turkish MP to fight, a gunfight. But Ismail Kemal wouldn't let him do this duel, saying, Hasan, my son, we need you for great work, not for these. We fix this differently. Hasan Pristina's hopefuls were not in Vlora on November 28th because he was arrested by Serb-Montenegrin Army forces and imprisoned in Belgrade. Prior to that, Hasan was at the helm of the uprising that brought Skopje's release on 12 August 1912. According to the English consul, the sceptres walked to Skopje with guns on their arm as Englishmen, side of London. They got in as winners, but right after that, his arrest happened. Six months later he was released and put in service by Ismail Kemal. Should be said that in 1919 he sent letter to US President Woodrow Wilson listing 14 points that were the doctrine of self - determination, what even the president had as a principle. It was this document that led Wilson right on the basis of this doctrine. Hasan has not drunk any jars with Serbs. So with the state and the nation, he didn't compromise.
Tell us about the relationship with Ahmet Zogu, Hasan Pristina's murder.
Mehmet Pristina: I call it a disaster that Hasan Pristina and Ahmet Zogu have not gone well. If those two had written well in general interest, we wouldn't have those developments. The evil is within us. They had political rivalry that went into their personal plan. During governance as Albania's 8th prime minister, and here, I find a chance to thank you, Mr. Qafoku, for publishing the book with 33 prime ministers, Hasan Pristina has made decisions. One of them was what you Mr. Qafoku discovered in the archive Ahmet Zogu's dismissal as army commander for the north. So Hasan is the first and only one who has dismissed Ahmet Zogu from a post or post. Ahmet Beau could not easily get through this. The next document you presented here makes that very clear. After 5 days of leaving Prime Minister Ahmet Zogu's post as interior minister issued the first order under which all of Hasan Pristina's decisions as prime minister were unknown. After Hasan's departure as prime minister, Zogu ordered his house's siege in Tirana to arrest him. At home here in Tirana was Hasan and wife Ikbalja. She came first in the window and told the gendarmes don't come near to kill themselves or give up. She herself fought as a man against the gendarmes. Right now, do you know what Hasan Pristina did? Ikbal fought and he wrote the will. I could read it and have this tent, and it said that he left all his wealth to Albanian schools. I own it and I'll make it public very soon in a book. Hasan's murder was treacherous. Ibrahim Celo killed him and, according to data and scholars, was part of a plot and, according to scholars, was used by Ahmet Zogu. I've not been taken and I don't want to deal with this matter personally. But we're looking at what happened to Ibrahim CheIon. After being sentenced to life imprisonment, he served only 7 years in prison and was released from Greece by the Germans. Then he disappears. We're wasting it just to know what this man killed Hasani. As for Ahmet Zogu, I've cleared up this case. I met Prince Leka in 2012. They even asked me if I gave her blood. I don't deal with Kanun as an old case. I live in the 2000s and look ahead. For me, my meeting with Leka and my pending writing was important. It took on even greater importance when Leka came to the inauguration of Hasan Pristina's September in Skopje. Here I call this story closed. Of course, historians and researchers as well as you, Mr. Qafoku, who have written about his murder in the book 100 More Spectacular Murders You can find out what happened. But even though I want to be very clear what I look forward to and I don't do that because I want to get even.
And for Hasan Pristina's grave.
Mehmet Pristina: In 1977 Hasan's remains were brought to Sceppi and buried in Kukes. I appreciate Enver Hoxha's decision and the Communist Party system brought Hasan Pristina's remains to Albania. Today, instead of the cemetery in Greece, there are buildings. Twenty-five thousand people were in attendance. He's buried in Kukes, on the border with Kosovo to be a symbol of resistance. A large part of the family have been invited to that ceremony. The idea has been to stand there as a symbol of unity, unity and resistance to protect Albanians on that side, but in 2014 following the implementation of September 3rd in Pristina, Skopje and Tirana, I have made an official request to President Nishani, Prime Minister Edi Rama, Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta who Hasan Pristina revarses in Tirana, but unfortunately neither does Albania have the cemetery of the Panteons. I heard there's been an agreement with the meeting of two governments to raise the pantheon tombs in Vlora, but I don't understand, they're going to dig all these figures like the French level, Faik Konica, they're gonna go that way? Because I think Hasan Pristina belongs near Faik Konica. If these graves stay where they are, Hasan Pristina belongs to this kind of mini Panteon. Albania and Albanians owe Hasan Pristina his repatriation to those who gave their best in their lives for Albania.
