Serbian Association of Economists Chairman Aleksandar Vlahovic acknowledges that the tax imposed by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo has a major impact on Serbia's economy.
He says if such a move does not go away, then Serbia will be obliged to find other markets because 15 per cent of the market is in the Republic of Kosovo.
This decision certainly has an impact on Serbian exports because nearly 15 per cent of Serbia's total exports are dedicated to the market in Kosovo”, he said, writes éstistie.
He has called on the EU to react to this 100 per cent tax on Serbian products, as the CEFTA agreement is violated according to him and is contrary to the basic principles of free trade existing within the EU.
“If these 100 per cent sanctions imposed by the Kosovo Government continue for a long time, then surely Serbia's producers of goods that have exported to Kosovo will be forced to run to other markets”, Vlahovic has finished.
