The Strasbourg court has condemned the Greek state for the violence exercised against a host of Albanian and Bulgarian prisoners in Hellenic prisons.
11 prisoners of 22 convictions that were made have received a 10,000-euro compensation for the damages caused at their address. Their complaint took place in 2013, and despite expectations, justice has been established.
But who were the signs of violence and what the prisoners claimed
Prison police had used electrosect on their bodies other than physical and psychological violence. Greek media dictatorship.gr wrote that some of the prisoners were forced to walk naked knees while being humiliated by prison police.
In the courts of Greece, cases in question were closed to the first degree and to Apel's with the argument that there was not enough evidence to provide a trial. But the Strasbourg Court, which has viewed them as flagrant human rights violations, has ruled otherwise.
The Strasbourg court argued that numerous signs of violence and hematoma had been found on the bodies of Albanian and Bulgarian prisoners. The court has added further that no investigation was conducted by the prosecution or police in connection with the cases.
