Moscow said Kosovo's decision to impose a 100% tax on products from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina is the start of a <x0-commercial war “threatening the big change of situation in the Balkans”.
“In fact, Pristina is waging trade warfare within the policy of entic cleansing. This, since the Serb territory population is largely dependent on supplies from central parts of Serbia”, Russia's Foreign Ministry said through a statement, the Russian news agency Interfax broadcast.
“Pristina does not deny that this is revenge for the loss it suffered when the Interpol General Assembly rejected it Kosovo's membership bid“, the Russian ministry said.
The same added that “The European Union, as the mediator of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, should convince Kosovo authorities immediately to cancel this illegal decision, which threatens the major gravity of the situation in the Balkans”, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
On Wednesday, Kosovo government has made decision to step up of 10% to 100% tax on products imported from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
EU foreign policy chief Federica Moghrini called on Kosovo authorities that to attract this tax, saying it violates the CEFTA Free Trade Agreement and the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the EU and Kosovo.
