A action undertaken this weekend by municipal inspectorate in Ferizaj and in co-ordination with the Kosovo Police, compounded by market inspectors, Sunnitar and officials from the Finance Directorate has resulted in the closure of 6 betting points within the city centre, businesses operating without the necessary Sanitarian conditions, without business documentation and in opposition to the legal requirements of the laws regulating this area.
So said a communique of the Ferizaj municipality, stressing that most of them do not own a business certificate at all, nor do the minimum-technical conditions for the development of the event.
“The new governance led by Ferizaj Community Chairman Agim Aliu has brought a new institutional approach aimed at protecting civic prosperity and removing young people from vices that harm the family economy and are a source of crime. Such is the current operational projection under way by the Communist Inspectorate for the closure of lucky playgrounds, casinos and bookies at Ferizaj respectively. The closure of these locals has been processed with the opening of the procedure near the justice organs, and as such this several-month action has dramatically reduced the number of such businesses that have operated in Ferizaj”, the communique said.
Ridvan Berisha, co-ordinator of the Municipal Inspectorate, said they are committed together with Ferizaj Chairman Agim Aliu for zero tolerance towards such businesses that each day favour fiscal informality and endanger the well-being of citizens.
Ferizaj is the national champion municipality for controlling the event. So far, the Municipal Inspectorate has closed over 20 betting and casino points, reaching to collect from their debts to the municipality over 500,000 euros, funds to be used for investments in public health and civic welfare. In fact, the new governance has ready the basic document of tax, cargo and tariffs that envision the increase in the cost of operating these businesses in Ferizaj as an effective provision for caring for the Prizajan family economy.
Ferizaj's municipality encourages citizens to report to the Municipal Inspectorate and other organs, the cases they face in suspicious activities of this kind of business near the locations where they reside in order to undertake conform measures in force.
