The country needs 2/3 of the General Assembly's votes to become part of the world's largest police mechanism. The vote will be held in secret by each member state, while discussions are expected to last about two hours.
INTERPOL membership presents a high achievement for Kosovo on the international level, with the country's newest European country becoming part of international police.
Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli praised potential membership as the biggest achievement after Kosovo independence.
This journey of Kosovo was conveyed with great opposition from Serbia, which has repeatedly lobbied on member states not to vote on Kosovo membership in INTERPOL.
Last year Kosovo had withdrawn from its application for membership in INTERPOL, this decision was taken by Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
