Vuciq has said he feels happy because according to him, the Russian president respects the fact that Serbia has managed to maintain independence, decision-making and continues to defend its position before internationals.
In an interview for Sputnik, Vucciciqi was quoted as saying that it is not easy to maintain a firm stand in the face of continued international pressure.
Regarding recent meetings with Putin, he declined to give much details.
In the meetings we had, Putin said it as well as Serbia wants: get as much for our people and our state, and lose as little as possible. He would not reveal any more details”, he said.
These statements, Vucic made in an interview for Sputnik, after being decorated by Russian President Vladimir Putin with “Alexander Nevskit”.
Vuciq was quoted as saying that Alexander Nevski's Order is a great honour to him personally and to the Republic of Serbia.
This shows Putin respects the Republic of Serbia. Unlike others, it is among the few who clearly understand how difficult and complex Serbia's current” position is, he said.
He has also talked about media reports that Trump adviser John Bolton and Russian diplomacy head Sergei Lavrov have already agreed to a solution to the Kosovo issue, and only remains Serbia to accept it.
Vuciq denied these reports, calling them false.
He has added that Kosovo and Serbia are still far from finding an agreement.
I'd like to find a compromise tomorrow, but it's not that bad. Any compromise would be painful for Serbia, so we have to be careful, because what happens in November will change the course of things.
Vuciq has been pessimistic about meetings warned on November 11th in Paris.
November 11th, we will be in Paris with the citizens of the world. Meetings should be made with EU mediation; because that's how we agreed. At meetings with Thaci, the mediator may also be the French president, but that will not lead to a solution. It's unrealistic to think of this”, Vuciq concluded.
He also spoke of Putin's warned visit to Serbia during January, which he said would bring much good to Serbia, starting with agreements in the field of economy, energy and infrastructure./ P ERISCOPIA
