Public health institutions in Kosovo continue to fail to meet all the patients' demands regarding the supply of drugs from the essential list, as well as the supply of obtaining material. Because of lack of supply, citizens are forced to buy the medical products they need for medical treatment.
Director Clinical at Gjilan Hospital Nisret Hajrullahu, in a proposal for the newspaper “Voice” has said that the supply of drugs from the essential list at this hospital is not even 60%. According to him, the supply of obtainable material is even lower.
“Diku 35% is the supply with extenuating material, while with drugs about 55%. 22 drugs from the essential list are missing. There's more than 70 drugs on the essential list, he said. For lack of these medical products, Hajrullahu has blamed economic operators.
The Health Ministry is not to blame, but the economic operators with whom the Ministry of Health contracted are responsible. The contracts are connected, but they don't do them”, he said.
