The bus fell from a bridge to the river after impacting a car in the southwestern town of China, Chongqing on Sunday, state television reported.
The search-saving teams found the victims' bodies.
The vehicle crashed around 10:00 local time in a car on the opposite side on a four - lane bridge in the Wanxian area.
The bus turned to avoid an accident and ended up in the Yangtze River.
It plunged about 50m underwater, state television reported, adding that it was not clear how many passengers were inside.
