The ombudsman has published the Report on Management and Preservation in municipalities in the Republic of Kosovo
This institution through a media statement has said that given that the management and maintenance of the cemetery is municipal activity of general interest and based on information collected on the poor state of cervical maintenance, the ombudsman has initiated investigations with the initiative (ex officio) to assess the state of the cemetery in municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo.
“Raport aims to offer an objective description of the state of the cemetery, given the most basic criteria to meet for the cemetery to be accessible, dignified and meet citizens' demands. The report identifies issues which are needed to be addressed by competent municipal authorities on the basis of their legal competencies, with the aim of overhauling and improving the situation in cemetery management”, Kosovo Presses reportedly follows.
Through this report, the Ombudsman recommended the authorities responsible for the measures to be taken in order for this situation to improve.
