Minister Tahiri has said it is unacceptable that the two political subjects Vetevendosje Movement and the Serbian List continue to oppose reforms in justice.
He has said that these two political subjects through abuse with mandates they have, they have contributed every day and contribute to skeptics' free movement of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
Minister Tahiri's full statement:
It is not acceptable that the biggest opponents of free movement through press conferences to galvanise their positions as an alternative, despite the fact that they are daily refusing to contribute to the consolidation of the rule of law.
For correct information of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, we remind you that deep reforms have been under way for 14 months in justice, including transforming criminal policy in the direction of empowering the rule of law, as well as fighting corruption, organised crime, strengthening the judiciary, property rights, encoding of civil law, as well as fulfilling the agenda of European Reforms.
These reforms have directly influenced the European Commission's positive assessment of meeting the criteria, as well as the recommendation for visa liberalisation for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
There are two political subjects that have consistently opposed these reforms, namely the Vetevendosje Movement and the Serbian List.
These two political subjects, through abuse with mandates they have displayed without full responsibility in supporting these reforms, have contributed and contribute to skeptics of the free movement of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo every day.
However, I am convinced that in addition to meeting each of the Republic of Kosovo's obligations for the visa liberalisation process, the European Union countries will recognise the credentials of our institutional and social efforts so that Kosovo citizens can move freely within the Schengen Zone as right and without an alternative.
