Democratic League of Kosovo [ The LDK has boycotted Kosovo Assembly sessions for more than two months. And, while their stance seemed firm, recent political developments on the local stage seem to be going back to the party that is led by Isa Mustafa back to the convent.
Several days ago, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Palmer visited the country, which had strong messages to Kosovo leaders. He even openly said that he had told them that they should give something for the agreement with Serbia, and that he had received their readiness for that.
What we should give Serbia remains a puzzle, but the most controversial idea is that of border correction currently promoted only by President Thaci. Against this idea has been from the beginning. The LDK, ruled out its deputy chairman, Lutfi Haziri.
Contradictiousness in opposition even went so far as the LDK, which consistently promoted what it called non-communicationism, and Rugovian breath, prepared to go on protest and abandon institutional life, as did the boycott of the Assembly hearings.
But, out of such confusion, this party seeks to survive through a resolution that could potentially support parties in the government coalition and the PSD, for a return to the Assembly, and as part of the consensus group for dialogue with Serbia. The resolution would ban negotiating the country's borders, but the resolutions of the Kosovo Assembly have never been more than list of wishes.
The LDK has changed sides very often in politics, and a new side-building movement is preparing it again, though, seeking to be covered through a resolution.
This party seems too sterile and weak in the public debate ʹ unable to argue political positions, and unable to argue changes of attitudes. She is already involved in an internal power race, as elections for party chairmanship will be held in the coming year. But dynamics seem tired. From a small error in the keyboard, the confusion of o'clock with the [companions], would better be formulated the LDK's acronym in: the Democratic Play of Kosovo. A matter of national importance should not be held hostage to the internal power struggle by the Avdullah Hoti group Vjosa Osmani and others.
However, the return to the Assembly and making part of such an important process as dialogue with Serbia should be hailed, taking into account the strength and historic importance of this party. /Periscopi
