Former Stability Pact Co-ordinator for South Eastern Europe Erhard Busek, speaking of the idea of changing borders between Kosovo and Serbia, says Europe has constantly changed borders during its history, and there are many such examples.
So, for us, the borders are real, even in the case of Kosovo”, Busek has said at an international conference in Belgrade of the “European Centre for Peace and Development”, which is dedicated to new security concepts in the world.
As Serbian media report, Busek also estimates that the European Union would need as soon as possible to accept the membership of Balkan countries, so the region's problems would be resolved.

“This would encourage regional co-operation”, and noted that, ” divisions between Western Europe and the Visegrad Group, problems with Russia, the Balkans and the Mediterranean, Europe could resolve with strengthening co-operation, despite political and other differences in the countries.
The European Union needs a more persistent approach to solving problems in the Balkans, which means the fastest accession of other countries. That may change Union's character, but that's necessary. Because this is Europe. Brussels should be more partner, not someone who orders “make this”, “complete this” and threaten “with finger, Busek said.
