German MP Peter Beyer, had reminded Serbia of the EU condition for its membership during his stay in Kosovo.
Germany's MP, Peter Beyer, declared during his stay in Kosovo that Serbia cannot be a member of the European Union without knowing Kosovo's independence.
This statement has sparked reactions in Serbia.
Serbia's Foreign Affairs Minister, Ivica Dacic, has said Serbia cannot violate its Constitution and recognise Kosovo, but, according to him, German MP Peter Beyer's statements should be taken seriously because, as he put it, this MP is official of Chancellor Angela Merkel's party.
“signals from several key Western countries, and above all from the United States, which so far have stood firm in Kosovo's independence positions, give us the right to fight, respecting reality on the ground, but also creating international relations”, Dacic told “Vrecenje Novosti”.
We remember that in terms of statements by German Bundestag deputy Peter Beyer had also reacted to Serbia's prime minister, Anna Brnabiq, who had said Beyer's statements are not the official positions of Germany.
