The key powers involved in Syria's civil war have criticised the US for providing aid to a militia, led by Kurds, to form a 30,000-strong border security forces <x0).
Turkey's president, Recep Tayip Erdogan, pledged that “would drown” efforts to train Syria's Demoractic Force and create, as he has said, “the terrorist army”.
Turkey considers Kurdish fighters terrorists.
Syria's government criticised, as it said, “the open attack” on its sovereignty, while Russia said such a thing could lead to division.
With US assistance, the Syrian Democratic Force has taken over tens of thousands of square kilometers of territory from the Islamic State militants.
In October, the alliance has taken full control of the town of Raka, the de facto capital of California that it declared the jihadist group in 2014.
Since then, the Syrian Democratic Force has advanced south along the east side of the Euphrates River Valley.
On Saturday, a spokesman for the multinational anti-Islamic coalition has confirmed that this coalition, which is headed by the US, is working with the Syrian Democratic Force to create and train a new border security force.
