SAA, Kosovo concessions to EU agricultural products

Kosovo, since the SAA's entry into force, has abolished customs duties for 1,044 out of 2.564 agricultural products from the EU. So says the report published by the Ministry of Trade and Industry on the subject “Effects of the Stabilisation and Association Kosovo ʹ the EU: The impact on the Trade 48x1>, stressing that 14 products have been non-negotiable and are not included in the agreement, which means that the Kosovo tariff will remain the same 10% for those products that mainly include milk products, cream, non-negurables, potatoes, apples, wine.

Otherwise, in April 2013, the European Commission concludes that Kosovo had fulfilled the 4 criteria and therefore in July 2013. The council gave the green light for launching negotiations for the SAA. The negotiator process was completed on May 2nd 2014. On July 25, 2014, the deal has been initiated, and on October 22, 2015 The SAA was approved to the EU Council.
The SAA signing took place on October 27, 2015, in Strasbourg. The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo ratified the Law for Ratification of a Stabilisation and Association Agreement on November 2nd 2015.
Eventually, the SAA has entered into force on April 1, 2016, with economic and political reports with the EU advanced to a contracted level.
The SAA is an international agreement linked between Kosovo and the European Union, whose goal is to establish formal and contractual relations between the two sides with the goal of Kosovo's EU membership.
