Victor Ponta, Romania's former prime minister today, has obtained Serbia's citizenship, broadcasting Koha.net.
Ponta is currently chairman of the Council for European Affairs in Romania's Parliament.
In the middle of last year, as Belgrade's “” reports, Ponta had stayed in the Serbian capital and had then ordered that Romania would continue to support Serbia's Euro-integration processes.
In 2016, Ponta had said that “Serbia is always Romania's best friend”.
Ponta has resigned from the prime minister's post at the end of 2015 following massive protests that broke out because of fire at one in the nightclub where 64 people died.
Romania has not yet recognised Kosovo's independence.
