Macedonia names postage stamp with Skenderbei portrait

Macedonia's post office has labeled stamps with the portrait of national hero Gjergj Kastriot Skenderbeu on the 550th anniversary of his death.

Albanian Ambassador to Macedonia Fatos Reka has announced this news through a post on the social Twitter network.

Macedonia's “Post has issued postage stamps to honour the 550th anniversary of the death of Albanian national hero Gjergoti Kanderbeu”, writes Reka.

Our national hero, who makes every Albanian proud, became part of history as one of the greatest generals and strategists of the time.

Although he had a small army with him, he could face and destroy the Ottoman army's most organized vessels as a great state man who led the war against Ottoman invaders. Skenderbeu marked a crucial turn in the country's political development and in strengthening national awareness.
