Najak's family is the last to live in the village of Gumsah, in the state of Odysha, eastern India. All other residents fled because of isolation and lack of roads.
But Najak refused to leave. Instead, he used a hammer, a driller, and a exit to build a road that could connect his village to surrounding areas. He worked every day for this plan for eight hours.

His initial plan was to spend another three years in a project involving 15km to connect the village on a road leading to the nearby town of Phulban.
His children attend school there, but the narrow road to use was quite dangerous, he told “Tv Caliga”.
My children have difficulty walking down the narrow path with stones, going to their school. I often saw them stumble by stones and decided to find a way through the mountains so that they could walk freely,” he said, “RT” Transmission Periscope.
The epic effort remained unknown to the general public in India until January 9th, according to “Hindustan Times”.
A report on the 45-year-old history, which was published in a local newspaper, caught the eye of a government fund dedicated to rural development, which decided to reward the dedicated father for his work.
Najak's efforts and determination to open the streets in the mountains fascinated me. He will be paid... for all the days he worked,” told reporters the fund manager, Brundha D./Periscopi/
