The opinion of the Anti-Corruption Agency, with which Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's decision to raise himself and his subordinates on Monday has prompted him to suspend the decision he made in December until a Constitutional Court ruling on the issue. This prime minister's decision will also apply to justice system employees in Kosovo, who should increase wages automatically with the increase the prime minister made for himself and his subordinates.
Today wages for the first government, deputy prime ministers, ministers, deputy ministers and their advisers have gone off without growth. That was after the decision he made on December 20th suspended the prime minister himself until a Constitutional Court decision, which will review the motion signed by the 30 deputies of the Kosovo Parliament for assessing the constitutionality of the decision on salary levels.
And doubled salaries will not even be received by law and prosecutorial workers.
The employees of this sector, Kosovo judges and prosecutors rejoiced at the news of the rising salaries of top public officials, as this increase automatically brought growth even to their salaries. So at least the Law for Court and Prosecutor's, depending on the official's position, their wages are equivalent to the wages of public officials. Even Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri himself had told them that with this increase they would be done with the best salaries in the region.
Kosovo Judiciary Council spokeswoman Ayse Qorray has told Gazeta Express that this institution has not yet received any official announcement if the decision to suspend this decision will be applied to the judicial and prosecutorial system.
And we haven't received official notice, so we don't have any information as to whether this decision will be useful even for the judicial and prosecutorial system”, says the response of the KDR Information spokeswoman.
It has confirmed that these employees have not received wages with increases even last month.
Last month's “Pages were taken without growth”, she responded.
Otherwise, if this increase took place then prosecutors and judges would be paid between 1400 and 3 thousand euros. The highest salary would be to meet with Supreme Court Chairman, who would have to be equivalent to that of the prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, 2950 euros. The Supreme Court Judges' salary would be equivalent to that of a ministry in Government, which stands to be 2,000 euros.
Even the president of the Court of Appeals would accept an equivalent salary with that of the judges of the Supreme Court of Kosovo, equivalent to a minister's salary of 2 thousand euros. And the president of the Constitutional Court would accept a wage equivalent to that of the Court of Appeals judge.
